Full Description: The Victoria Hotel was first known as Currans Hotel and was opened by James Curran in March 1870. It was renamed Churchwards Hotel in 1877. It became the Victoria Hotel in 1885 and in the early 1900s the name was reversed to the Hotel Victoria. The Victoria Road building was on the site of an adjoining farmyard and a courtyard at the rear of the hotel retained portions of the rough stone farm walls. The Victoria Hotel was closed after the 1966 Farnborough Air Show and subsequently demolished.
Adjoining the hotel is Macari's coffee bar and on the other side, on the corner of Gordon Road, Lloyds Bank. |
