Full Description: This shows the proposed plan for the Heroes' Shrine which was built next to the Manor House as a tribute to those who took part in the Battle of Britain and the "blitzed cities" of Britain. It was built with stone from many of the famous buildings destroyed by air attack and was unveiled on 5 May 1950. |
