| Full Description: The picture shows the Kings Troop, Royal Horse Artillery and the 1st Battalion, the Scots Guards leaving the arena after taking part in the early part of "Battle Royal".
According to Colonel Cole in his book the "Story of Aldershot this 19th century battle scene depicted the troops forming a defensive line against imaginary enemy infantry, whose attack they repulsed. Enemy cavalry expected, the Foot Guards "formed square". The Household Cavalry pursued the defeated enemy cavalry and the infantry advanced, followed by the guns of the Kings Troop, Royal Horse Artillery., |
