Full Description: The ship in this photograph is probably HMS Hermes. It was laid down in World War 2 but only completed in 1952. When sea harriers came into operation the ship was given a distinctive hump ramp to allow the aircraft to take off. She was the flagship in the Falklands Campaign and was sold to India in 1986.
