Full Description: The Silver Jubilee of King George V was celebrated in Portsmouth on 6th May 1935. The day began with a Thanksgiving service in the Guildhall Square and was followed by street parties held across the city. In the evening a firework display was held on Portsdown Hill and a great bonfire was lit simultaneously with other beacons across the country. On the 16th July a Jubilee Naval Review attended by the King was held at Spithead.
