| Full Description: A difficult church to date, looking thirteenth to fourteenth century from the outside but probably earlier. It consists of a chancel with south aisle, north chapel and north vestry, nave and aisles with a western tower and south porch. The walls appear to be constructed of chalk rubble, with clunch dressings, plastered on the interior and roughcast on the outside. The square west tower with lancets may date from the late twelfth century: the recessed spire is later. The interior of the tower contains a massive timber frame supported by heavy corner posts to carry the six bells.
The church was restored in 1863, and the tower in 1901.
The graveyard now contains the grave of Field Marshall the Viscount Montgomery of Alamein.
