Full Description: We are looking at the exterior of the Lady Chapel at the east end of Winchester Cathedral. The Lady Chapel was built by Bishop de Lucy in the early thirteenth century, to a noble design, and remodelled in the fifteenth century. Further along from the chapel is the retrochoir.
A very low view, which hides the tower of the cathedral.
The print is taken from B Winkles, Cathedral Churches of England and Wales. 1836. |
