Full Description: In Sept 1903 the Naval Barracks were opened for the men who had previously been quartered on hulks in the harbour. The building occupies the site of the former Anglesea Barracks in Queen Street. It accommodated 400 men and covered an area of nearly 100 acres. It is now part of the shore establishment of HMS Nelson and the original building serves as the wardroom and officers mess.
