Full Description: During the Second World War most of the house was used as an annexe of the Royal South Hants Hospital. It was renovated after the War and the Victorian North Wing was demolished, returning the house to its original Palladian design.
In 1979, shortly before his death, Lord Louis Mountbatten opened the house to the public.
